It’s been a hot minute since I’ve written anything here, but I have a good excuse. I’ve been pushing hard to get the last (please please please let it be the last) cover-to-cover editing pass finished – and it’s done! I sent it off for further review, and now… again… I wait.

The ending of the book was significantly restructured, based on some very wise feedback, and several chapters were eliminated, edited, and rearranged. I think it works pretty well, but at this point, the fatigue is real, ya’ll. There will probably be additional tweaks, but I think we’re pretty close to a final version.

I’m in the process of having a proof copy sent to my nitpickiest editor – my mother. She catches typos that literally everyone else on the planet misses (misses more than once, or twice, or…) and I learned a very important lesson after the first book: Let Mom read it before publication, not after. That should save me weeks of red-faced embarrassment, regrets, and recriminations.

It’s August, and how the heck is it August already? We don’t have a final release date for you yet, but we’re on-track for by-the-end-of-the-year, for sure. Probably. Maybe. Ok, don’t hold me to that, but I think it’s likely. I’d like to shoot for early December, or possibly even November, but we’ll see how it goes. Heck, October would be nice…
